It’s late at night in a San Francisco hotel room, and I’ve just done one of the hardest things a dad can do, drop my sixteen-year-old daughter off to start her new life in the US. Not a final goodbye, more of a “see you soon,” but enough to leave the old man a little misty-eyed.
This video is the beginning of a new series, less about apertures and shutter speeds, more about the messy, beautiful, personal side of creativity and life. Honest, a little raw, but filled with hope, because while she begins her next chapter on stage, the place I loved so much myself in younger years. I’ll find my way back behind the camera (and eventually get my emotions back under control), give it time and all shall be fine.
