Personal Projects - The Path to Experience (Part 1)
In this episode, we talk about the importance of self-assigned personal projects, to grow, gain experience, try out new things, fuel our passion and learn while having fun. Sounds like a win-win to me.
Backstory:
Every day, I walk into the studio and pass my little gallery, with photos hung up when we just moved in, back about 9 years ago. The photos are at least 10 or more years ago, one of of them, featuring the 6-year-old Nae, was shot 13 years ago. This little girl will turn 20 this year and has become an incredible professional classical ballet dancer. Because of the current Covid situation, she is not in the US at the moment, where she’s been dancing with various ballet companies, but in Australia instead. With her in the country, I’ve decided to re-create the original photograph, as a personal project!
Afterwards, we created “new” images, using party lights, to achieve an alluring “club” look.
SBweekly.tv is all about sharing ideas, experiences, knowledge, creativity and inspiration. Mostly geared towards beginning and enthusiast photographers, we cover a wide range of topics, from photography and retouching to video & sound production, sprinkled in with a few travel stories and conversations with fellow creatives.
